The fifth annual Spring Plant Sale and EcoMarket at rare’s ECO Centre and Slit Barn (768 Blair Road in Cambridge and the Haldimand Tract), is a fundraising event for rare’s Springbank Farm food bank garden taking place on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is a great opportunity to come out in the spring weather and purchase organic seedlings for your home, backyard or community gardens. This will be the second year that we are offering the EcoMarket, supporting local artisans and inclusive organizations beneath a weather-proof tent outside the Slit Barn, and the application process to sign up to be one of these vendors is now open.

Applications should be sent to Jessica OConnell@raresites.org or be mailed to 1679 Blair Road, Cambridge, ON, N3H 4R8. There is a nominal participation fee of $10 for selected vendors. Selected applicants will be notified by email and their participation fee and participation agreement will be sent to rare to secure their space.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 15, but early acceptances are possible, so apply early, and save the date of Saturday, May 13, for the Spring Plant Sale! We look forward to seeing you there!
The rare Spring Plant Sale and EcoMarket takes place on the Haldimand Tract, which spans six miles on both sides of the Grand River, from source to mouth. We are grateful to the original stewards of this territory on which rare is located, and we thank them and honour their love and respect for the land as we gather and create community, chi-miigwech, Mississaugas of the Credit and to the Onkwehon:we Peoples of Six Nations of the Grand River, nia:wen.
